Wyrulec awards scholarships

TORRINGTON – Every year, Wyrulec awards up to $8,000 in scholarships to students who receive their electrical power from Wyrulec.
This year, 11 local students were awarded with scholarships at the company’s Annual Membership Meeting March 30. The following students were selected by the Wyrulec Scholarship Committee for the school year starting in Fall of 2017: Makenna Greenwald (Basin Electric Power Cooperative Scholarship), Savannah Jordan (Tri-State Generation and Transmission Scholarship), Skyler Miller (Tri-State Generation and Transmission Scholarship), Paige Cross (Wyrulec Scholastic Scholarship),  Kenna Noble (Wyrulec Scholastic Scholarship), Morea Shipley (Wyrulec Scholastic Scholarship), Emily Zavorka (Wyrulec Scholastic Scholarship), Mary Samantha Garvie (Wyrulec Trade Scholarship), Clay Hiser (Wyrulec Trade Scholarship), Sean Malcom (Wyrulec Trade Scholarship) and Georgia Wollert (Wyrulec Trade Scholarship).
The Wyrulec Scholastic and Trade scholarships are made possible by funds from donated capital credits or unclaimed capital credits.  Tri-State Generation and Transmission generously finances $1,000 in scholarships for two Wyrulec member students and Basin Electric Power Cooperative finances a $1,000 scholarship for Wyrulec to award.
