Tea in the Tropics held in Hartville

Mark DeLap/Guernsey Gazette Guernsey-Sunrise principal Liesl Sisson and her daughter Claire participated in the third annual mother/daughter tea in Hartville.

HARTVILLE – Mothers and daughters from all over Platte and Goshen Counties came to celebrate a “Tea in the Tropics” at the residence of Cheryl Woolsey Deuel.

“This major tea party was my third annual Mother/Daughter tea, Tea in the Tropics,” Deuel said. “Sixty-nine people were in attendance. This was hard to do this year, but thanks to some great helpers, Tesha and Scott Frederick, Tyler Cisneros, Abbey Seyfang, Dominic Ibarra, Lori Ibarra and of course my honey, Bruce, I made it.”

Cheryl’s mom Virginia died recently, and Cheryl considered canceling but did not.

“She always does such a beautiful job and thinks of everything,” said Tri-City Parks and Rec executive director Lori Ibarra. “She’s a very generous community member, and yesterday was her wedding anniversary.”
