Lions Club to host Community in the Park

Event to be held Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. at Whipple Park in Lingle

LINGLE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Lions Club will be hosting Community in the Park in Whipple Park Aug. 10 beginning at 6 p.m.

“It’s a get together for everybody to relax, visit with their neighbors and listen to some music,” Lingle-Fort Lions Club member Bill Carr told the Guide.

The Lingle Volunteer Fire Department will be frying burgers and serving chips and drinks for the event. There is no cost to attend, but participants are asked to make a free will donation to the Lingle Volunteer Fire Department.

The event will feature music from the Community Band, the Jazz Band and the Torrington Fiddlers Association.

The Lions Club have also sponsored a free swim at the Lingle Pool and ice cream cones.

The club asks participants bring usable eyeglasses and donate them to the Lions Eyeglass Collection Project. In addition, the club will accept donations of nonperishable food items for Goshen County Food Pantries.

Per information received from Councilmember Brandie Cook at Wednesday’s Lingle Town Council Meeting, Goshen Economic Development has offered assistance with the event as well.
