LINGLE – The Bitch’s Corner Bar in Lingle will be hosting a local coyote hunt Friday, Oct. 30 through Sunday, Nov. 1. Teams will consist of three members, and entry will cost $100 per team. The Calcutta will be Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m., with the hunt starting immediately thereafter. The final check-in is Sunday, Nov. 1, at 4 p.m.
Teams will compete to bring in the most coyotes. If there is a tie, then coyotes will be weighed to determine the winner. According to event organizer Cory Serres, this will be a calling contest. Contestants are not allowed to run the coyotes down with machines.
Cash prizes will be awarded first through third place, but Serres said the payout would depend upon the number of registered hunters.
Serres, Justin Smith and Dakota Forkner enjoy hunting coyotes and thought it would be an excellent opportunity to get people outside while working to address coyote overpopulation in the area.
