LFL goes 0-2 at regionals

WRIGHT – The Lingle-Fort Laramie volleyball team saw its 2023 season came to a close at the 2A East Regional Tournament on Saturday morning.

The Lady Doggers opened the weekend in a five-set thriller against tournament host Wright on Friday afternoon.

Lingle won the opening set 25-14 before dropping the second set by the same score. The Lady Doggers took a 2-1 set lead with a 25-18 win in the third set, but the Lady Panthers won the final two sets 25-11 and 15-8 to advance to the semifinal round.

Meanwhile, the Lady Doggers faced a must-win situation on Saturday morning to keep their state tournament berth hopes alive against the Sundance Lady Bulldogs.

Sundance won the first set 25-17, but LFL tied the match at one apiece in the second with a 25-21 win. However, the final two sets went to the Lady Bulldogs 25-17 and 25-16.

Neither Wright nor Sundance went on to qualify for this weekend’s state tournament in Casper.

The Lady Doggers ended the season with a 13-15 record.
