LINGLE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers won their fourth straight match last Thursday in a 3-0 sweep over SEWAC foe Pine Bluffs.
A pair of serving aces from junior Baylee Skinner put the Lady Doggers in front 3-2 as L-FL defeated the Lady Hornets 25-21, 25-15, 26-24.
The two teams swapped the lead throughout much of the first set.
Tied at 21 apiece, senior M’Lynn Hill’s kill put the Lady Doggers in front as L-FL scored the final four points of the set to take a 1-0 lead.
In the second set, it was all Lingle.
The Lady Doggers scored the first seven points of the set. The opening run was capped off by a kill by freshman Brenly Shipp.
Pine Bluffs never got closer than five points in the 10-point set victory for the Lady Doggers.
In the final set, a pair of aces by senior Tiah Meyer pushed the Lingle lead to 13-5, but Pine Bluffs stormed back, tying the match at 17 apiece.
Over the remainder of the set, the two teams swapped the lead four times.
Sophomore Natalie Speckner broke the 24-24 tie with a kill, and a Pine Bluff attack error which landed out of bounds secured the sweep for the Lady Doggers.
Hill led the team with 10 kills, while Meyer added eight. Shipp had six. Skinner served up six aces and dished out 28 assists, while Myer had three aces.
On the defensive side of the net, Speckner, Meyer and Hill had one block each, while Speckner had 15 digs. Skinner added 12, while Meyer had 11.
The Lady Doggers (4-3) host cross county rival Southeast (5-2) for Homecoming on Friday. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
