Emergency responders helping local families

GOSHEN COUNTY – The Lingle Police Department, Fort Laramie Police Department, Lingle Volunteer Fire Department and Fort Laramie Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting programs aimed at aiding in-need families throughout the Goshen County area.

The Lingle and Fort Laramie agencies are hosting “Giving Trees” at both Lingle and Fort Laramie Town Halls. The trees have a variety of ornaments on them which state a dollar amount. Those wishing to participate can visit either the Lingle or Fort Laramie Town Hall to donate to the campaign.

The donations will then be used to provide in-need families throughout the Lingle and Fort Laramie area with monetary gifts and gift cards to go towards holiday travel, meals, etc.

Delivery will take place in December, closer to Christmas. Santa and all of the first responders from both towns will be delivering the gifts.

Donations will be accepted until Dec. 12.

Additionally, the Lingle Volunteer Fire Department, in conjunction with their 100th anniversary back in 2020, will be raffling off a Stag Arms Stag-15 rifle on Nov. 25. Tickets are available for purchase from any Lingle Volunteer firefighter, by visiting the Lingle Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page or stopping by the Torrington Telegram office at 2025 Main Street in Torrington.
