LINGLE – Every year, local service clubs and volunteer organizations in Lingle join forces to present Community in the Park
The Lingle-Fort Laramie Lions Club hosts the annual event, scheduled this year for Wednesday, Aug. 1, beginning at 6 p.m. at Whipple Park.
As part of a tasty fundraiser and service to the community, the Lingle Volunteer Fire Department will hold a hamburger fry for free-will donations.
As in years past, the Lions Club plans to serve ice cream, and multiple musical acts will grace the stage at the bandshell. The 2018 line-up includes the Goshen County Community Band, Jazz Ensemble, and Lingle Community Presbyterian Church Men’s Group.
The Lions will collect unexpired, nonperishable food items for Goshen County Food Banks, as well as usable eyeglasses to donate to the Lions Eyeglass Collection.
The Lingle Pool is offering free swimming for children.
The festivities will last until dark, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and an empty stomach to enjoy a night of food, fun and music.
