Basic Self-Defense for Women class
TORRINGTON – The Community Education Department at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington will host a Basic Self-Defense class for Women next month.
This class will be from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday Oct. 12. Cost for the training will be $20.
This class is designed to increase personal awareness of surrounding, reducing the chance of walking unawares into compromising situations at home, in a parking lot or while exercising. Basic defensive techniques will be demonstrated with opportunities to practice.
For individuals who’ve taken this or similar classes in the past, this provides an opportunity to either refresh or hone existing skills.

Episcopal Church rummage sale
TORRINGTON – All Saint’s Episcopal Church will host its annual rummage sale, 8 a.m. to noon Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 – 14, at the church, 2601 Main St. in Torrington.
Something for everyone
TORRINGTON – First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church in Torrington will host its fall rummage sale, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 – 14, at the church, located at 2972 Main Street.
Hours are 8 a.m. to noon on Friday and 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday. The event is hosted by the Presbyterian Women group at the church.
Western History Center to offer summer recap
LINGLE – The Western History Center, located on U.S. Hwy. 26 five miles west of Lingle, will feature George Zeimens on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. Zeimens will offer a recap of WHC’s summer activities, including archaeology dig sites, the eclipse, the 100-year celebration of the Sunrise YMCA, youth programs and more. ‘Sneaky Fitch’ opens Oct. 26
TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Community Theater production of The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch, takes to the stage at the Eastern Wyoming College Fine Arts Center for seven shows beginning Oct. 26 in Torrington.
The play follows the fall and rise, in that order, of Sneaky Fitch, an “abrasive disgrace – a no-good, drunken, brawling nuisance,” according to a Dramatists Play Service synopsis of the play. The production features a diverse group of players from the local and

Tickets are available in the Community Education office at EWC and will be available in the lobby one hour before curtain times. Cost is adults $9, students 12 and older and seniors $7 and EWC students $3.
