Burn ban set for county

TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Commissioners have instituted a county-wide burn ban, effective Tuesday, Aug. 1, according to a press release from county fire warden Bill Law.
The commissioners voted July 5 to institute the ban due to dry conditions around the area. The ban prohibits all controlled burns, burn barrels, open fires in campfire rings and burn pits. The use of fireworks is expressly prohibited under the ban. Outdoor cooking in enclosed charcoal or gas grills is permitted.
The ban will remain in effect until further notice, the release said. For additional information or questions, call Law at (307) 532-7952 or (307) 532-0305.
