Board approves superintendent, teacher contracts

GOSHEN COUNTY – The Goshen County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees renewed several contracts, including one for Superintendent Jean Chrostoski, at its meeting
Tuesday, April 11.
Board members approved Chrostoski’s contract, ensuring she would retain her position for a term beginning July 1 and running through June 30, 2019. The contract states it is necessary to “describe specifically (the board and Chrostoski’s) relationship and to serve as the basis for effective communication as they fulfill their governance and administrative functions in the operation of the education program of the schools.”
The board also approved several teaching contracts and annual employment agreements for the 2017-2018 school year, with the exception of one instructional facilitator. That agreement was not approved because state funding for facilitators was cut by the state Legislature during the recent session.
Board members agreed to offer certified staff contracts to Craig Leithead as business education teacher at Southeast Junior and Senior High School (pending Wyoming certification), Rebecca Maidl as art teacher at Torrington Middle School and Katelyn Fody as vocal music teacher at Torrington Middle School and Torrington High School to replace longtime instructor Kris Tolman.
Upcoming summer school administrators are Tim Williams, elementary school principal, and Dave Plendl, middle and high school principal.
