The Regular Meeting of the Lingle Town Council convened at 5:00 PM January 5, 2022 with Mayor Siglin leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Upon roll call, the following were present, constituting a quorum: Mayor: George Siglin Council Members: Steve Edwardson Joe Welte A.J. Lambert There was also present: Town Clerk: Richard Reyes Absent: Council Member: Brandie Cook Town Attorney: Anna Barnes Police Chief: Endra Andrews Fire Chief: Kasey Bangerter Town Supervisor: Larry Haeffelin. Mayor Siglin welcomed all to the meeting and thanked them for being present. Mayor Siglin called for approval of the agenda. CM Welte moved to approve the agenda as presented. CM Edwardson voiced the second and the motion carried unanimously. Mayor Siglin called for approval of the minutes of the December 8, 2021 regular council meeting. CM Lambert moved to approve the minutes as presented. CM Welte voiced the second and the motion carried unanimously. BILLS FOR DECEMBER 2021: CM Edwardson moved to approve the Town bills in the amount of $96,160.91. CM Lambert voiced the second and the motion carried unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Mayor Siglin informed the Council of a phone conversation he had with Kyle Rafferty. A group of parents have been asked by the Booster Club to spearhead a Winter Formal Dance on January 15, 2022. Due to Covid-19 restrictions Lingle High School is unable to host such functions. The parent group is requesting use of the Lingle Community Center at no charge since this involves community high school students. Following discussion, CM Edwardson moved to allow Rafferty’s to hold the Winter Formal Dance on January 15, 2022 in the Lingle Community Center; waive the rental fee but are required to submit the usual deposit and clean the facility once the dance has concluded. CM Welte voiced the second and the motion passed unanimously. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: C Reyes informed the Council that the Annual Community Christmas Lighting Contest had taken place. After receiving voting ballots from Council Members, a clear third place winner had not been declared. Voting ballots containing the names of the four residents receiving single votes were distributed to the attending Council Members. Votes were cast and Matt and Karie Berry were voted as the third-place winners of the Community Christmas Lighting Contest. C Reyes informed the Council of the three winners of the Community Christmas Lighting Contest: 1st Place: John and Kerri Rose 2nd Place: Matt and Kelsey Barnes 3rd Place:  Matt and Karie Berry Winners will receive a credit on the next Lingle town utility bill in these amounts: 1st Place: $100 2nd Place: $75 3rd Place: $50 The Council congratulated all the winners and thanked all that participated for their efforts and sense of community. The Lingle Town Council agreed by consensus to waive the January mid-month Council Meeting. With no further business to conduct Mayor Siglin adjourned the meeting at 5:13 PM.
